Krepkuri Nduga, MediaHabema – Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA in Papua, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Monday, 19 August 2024, the 503 Task Forces, especially the Batas Batu Post led by First Lieutenant Galih Widiharyo Nugroho, conducted security in Mumugu Village, Krepkuri District. During their routine, the Post helped the Mumugu residents to hold the Indonesian Flag Raising Ceremony to commemorate the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Commander of the 503 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, emphasized the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to the community's basic needs around the Post. Due to this emphasis, 1LT Galih has conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with Community Figures of the Village since the beginning of August, especially regarding the plan to commemorate Independence Day. The Komsos agreed that the series of commemorations would be applied in various activities, including game competitions among the community, ceremonies, and other community activities.

To implement the Indonesian Flag Raising Ceremony in Mumugu, 1LT Galih and the Soldiers extended invitations to all levels of society, from Village Heads, Tribal Chiefs, Village Officials, to School Children, to attend the Ceremony. The Ceremony activities ran safely and smoothly, with all participants actively engaging in the solemn ceremony. After the series of events was completed, 1LT Galih and the Head of Mumugu Village, Mr. Daniel Menjeh, took turns expressing their gratitude for the enthusiasm of the residents and the Soldiers in working together. Mr. Daniel said, "Thank you, Commander 503. We are delighted to participate in the Flag Ceremony to commemorate the 79th Independence Day of Republic Indonesia. Long live Indonesia".

Upon receiving the program report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, expressed his pride, saying, "The initiative of the 503 Task Forces to hold the Indonesian Flag Raising Ceremony in Mumugu Village to commemorate the 79th Independence Day is a shining example of the implementation of the results of the inclusive social communication with all parties to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region. This initiative not only reassures the event's success but also underscores its significant impact on the community, demonstrating the positive influence of the Task Forces' actions."
